Terms and conditions | Read below

1. The Service

Inlettia provides an online service that allows users to write letters online which are then printed and mailed as physical letters to detained and incarcerated recipients (“Recipients”). We aim to send letters using local distribution partners where available. If a local partner is not available, we may use the nearest available country/route to print and mail the letter.

2. Supported countries and availability

The Service is available only for the countries listed as supported in the letter form at the time of your order. Supported countries and routes may change due to local regulations, facility rules, operational constraints, or partner availability.

3. User responsibilities (accuracy and compliance)

You are responsible for providing complete and correct information, including:

Recipient’s full name and any optional identifying details (e.g., inmate number, national ID number or other facility-accepted identifiers)

The official facility mailing address

Your sender/return address (if required)

Facility rules and country regulations vary. You are responsible for ensuring your letter and details comply with the rules applicable to the destination facility and country.

Sender Responsibility

It is the sender’s responsibility to confirm with the receiving facility whether third-party letters are accepted. In practice, this is generally accepted worldwide, but there may be exceptions depending on local rules or facility-specific procedures.

4. Optional identification details

Optional identification details (such as an inmate number or national ID number) may improve delivery accuracy. In some countries/facilities, such information may be required. It is your responsibility to check what is required for the destination.

5. Content rules (prohibited content)

You may not use the Service to send content that is illegal, threatening, harassing, hateful, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise unlawful. You may not send content that violates third-party rights (including copyright), contains personal data you are not entitled to share, or is intended to facilitate wrongdoing.

We reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or block orders that violate these Terms, applicable laws, or partner/facility policies.

6. Production and dispatch (automated processing)

Our process is automated. Once your payment and submitted content have been received, production begins promptly.
Because of this, we cannot edit addresses, modify content, or stop/cancel a letter once it has been submitted to production.

7. Delivery times and tracking

Delivery times vary by country and facility. Typical delivery may take a few business days, but delays can occur due to postal services, facility handling, holidays, inspections, or local rules.

Letters are sent as standard, non-trackable mail, and tracking is not available.

8. Failed delivery, returns, and facility decisions

Facilities may reject, delay, hold, or return mail for many reasons (e.g., missing details, prohibited content, internal policies, transfers, or the Recipient being moved/released). We are not responsible for facility decisions or internal handling.

If a letter is returned or not delivered due to incorrect/insufficient address details or missing required identifiers provided by you, this is not considered a Service failure.

9. Pricing, taxes, and payment

Prices are shown at checkout before payment. Prices may vary by destination and service configuration. Payment must be completed before production starts. If applicable, taxes/VAT may be included or added at checkout depending on your setup and jurisdiction.

10. Refunds and chargebacks

Because letters are produced promptly after submission:

No refunds are available once production has started.

If Inlettia fails to produce or dispatch your letter due to an error on our side, we may offer a replacement or refund at our discretion.

If a letter is delayed or not delivered due to postal or facility handling, it is generally not refundable.

11. Right of withdrawal (EU/EEA notice)

If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you may have a right of withdrawal for online purchases. However, this right may not apply (or may be lost) for services that begin immediately after purchase with your consent. By placing an order, you acknowledge that production may begin immediately and that cancellation may not be possible once production starts, subject to applicable law.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

Inlettia is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including lost opportunities, emotional distress, or delays caused by third parties (postal services, authorities, facilities, partners).

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by law.

13. Force majeure

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including strikes, postal disruptions, governmental actions, facility lockdowns, war, natural disasters, or infrastructure failures.

14. Intellectual property

You retain rights to the content you submit, but you grant inlettia a limited right to process, print, and dispatch it solely to provide the Service. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any content you submit.

15. Privacy and data processing

We process personal data necessary to provide the Service (e.g., names, addresses, letter content).

16. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time you place an order applies to that order. The latest version will be published on our website.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Disputes shall be resolved in Stockholm, unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.
