How to find the correct address | Guide from inlettia

Always verify that the address information is accurate before sending any correspondence. We accept no responsibility for letters sent to an incorrect address.

Six steps to find the correct address

To make sure your letter reaches the right person, use the facility’s official mailing address and the recipient’s full details.

  1. Ask the recipient directly, if you are able to contact them.
  2. Ask the recipient’s family or close contacts, who may already have the correct mailing details.
  3. Ask the recipient’s lawyer or legal representative, who can often confirm where the person is held and the correct address.
  4. Contact the facility directly by phone or email and ask for the official mailing address and any required recipient details.
  5. Contact the country’s correctional service/prison authority for guidance on the correct facility address and mailing rules.
  6. Check the official government or correctional authority website in that country, where facility addresses and mailing instructions are often published.
